After a huge amount of trawling through all the photographs I've taken in the last year I've finally managed to comprehensively update my website - loads of new stuff on there and a new layout to boot...
www.alistair-flack-photography.co.uk
Would be really interested to hear your comments on presentation/layout/colour scheme etc. Oh and feedback on the images too!
Hope you enjoy :)

Nice and clean. I like the use of SimpleViewer, very fast. The simplicity of the site keeps it fast and enjoyable, great job.

Hi Alistair,
I like your pictures a lot, some are particularly good as wall-art. You should offer those round to interior designers, particularly those that deal with chains like what we call motorway service stations, don't know what you call them in the States.
But, and there's always a but, I don't like the black pages, although, having said that, yours are a lot easier to read than many I've seen. The site is uncluttered and striking. The writing in your piece about you is warm and welcoming, people will relate to that in a positive way.
Finally 'Cityscapes' somehow implies vistas, wide busy city shots. Yours are more intimate. Compare with 'Landscapes'.

I like the flicker accounts they are very clean and professional. You have some great pictures displayed as well. You have some nice work!
Do you sell your work? If not, you should think about it.

Man, that is a long url.
LMAO! Yeah, I know it. I would have used the initials AFP but thats already taken by the Agence France Presse and I wouldn't want the hassle of building up a site only to have the domain name taken off me!
As for the other comments - I'm chuffed to say the least - thanks so very much. I would love to start selling my pictures and will definately look into all the avenues mentioned below. And by the way Gerry@Rick, I know Yorkshire may feel like a different country but it sure as hell ain't in the states!
Hang easy one and all!

Thanks! There's a whole b&w gallery on the site already, called 'Mono'

Your photos are very sideways and composed unusually. Now I wasn't being nasty but saying your doing a good job!
Your stuff is clean, very clean. I'd like to see you do some photo series on a slightly more photojournalistic, serious bent - it'd be very interesting and you'd do well.

erm, thanks!
PJ work would be cool, could definately have a look for any local causes/movements and try and document some of their work... would quite like to try approaching the local skater crowd and get some pics of their style/attitude etc. Also got some plans to try some night-shooting, couple of buildings/monuments in mind, just need the weather to sort itself out!
Have also just ordered a macro lens so will be trying that out soon enough :)

Your style is fairly intimate with open accessable things, I'd like to see the results of intimate stuff and weighty stuff.
Yea, I'm gonna get the 100 macro eventually and sigma 70-200. At the moment I almost only use my tamron 24-75 for everything!
Hey, what you think about the interface of my site I'm doing?

First - great photography!
As for the site, first impressions are really good. Love the use of the 4 images for the 4 main subject areas. Nice colours/layout.
Going into the Documentary section, it would be nice to have some forward/back buttons on the main size image to quickly cycle through the images without having to click on each thumbnail, but that is me being lazy. The 'More Photos' link is pretty well hidden, might be worth trying something (colour/size/location) to make it standout more.
Once I've looked at those photos, I then need to go back to your homepage before getting to your other areas. Might be worth building in links to the 4 main areas of your site in the banner at the top?

Hmm, thanks, food for thought. Yea, I should stick links for the other parts in the top banner.

I like your images and general site design. I think the black and grey sets off the photos. Your work isn’t lost in a bunch of muckety muck. Not sure I understand the airplane though. I think some of the photos don't fit into their heading. Now that you have this great layout you might consider adding and removing some images.
Far away places: I expected more beaches, India, the orient etc. Not a table top set ups or a non descript church that could be down the street. While the Ice images are strong you might consider including only one. ( I like the one with the silhouetted person)
Cityscapes: I expected buildings, taxi's and groups of people. Why is there a (blown out) beach image here
Mono: You might also consider removing altogether and just including some of those images in the other folders.
Landscapes: Strong collection. However I believe “Undulations” and “Curves” are too similar. Possibly choose one. “Delicate” is kind of boring.
Movement: Good description of images (except the dog) Definitely my favorite collection.
Very nice self portrait.., calm warm and inviting.
If possible think about repositioning the “back” link and maybe increasing it a point size.
