These two images are the first two I have done with Adobe Lightroom, I am keen to hear your thoughts. A little extra curves was applied in PS, but otherwise nothing. I have avoided any layering of the sky, as I would usually do where no ND grad was used, as I wanted to see how much control AL gave. I am quite impressed with the level of control given in AL, just wish it was a bit faster on my old p4 2.4, I am sure Adobe will sort this out for a full release.

Love the second, Neil. Is that algae on the rocks in the water really that color, or is it enhanced a bit with your tweaking?

Very nice work with both! I love how bright the first photo is... The sky is perfect!

And the waterfalls in the second are perfect!

The 2nd shot is great, don't change a thing.

I like the processing in the first shot and I can see what you were going for here. I don't like how the 2 rocks block out the stream/waterfall, to my eye they become the subject.

So processing wise AL seems to work great for you, the images look great.

I love the 2nd shot.
But the first, don't know what it is. Probably the lack of water, due to two big rocks in the way. I would have possibly tried to shoot a landscape orientation on the left side of the rocks, but then you would have possibly been wet, (it's all in the fun of taking different photos), and you may have lost view of the bridge, which adds to the photo.

The work of the first one looks quite impressive Neil.
Lightroom is very slow in all machines, early stages you see.

The light and colors are outstanding, especially in the first one! I think it could have been composed better with the river coming all the way into the foreground of the photo. As it is, those large rocks are kind of blocking my entrance into the scene.

It looks like "AL" is working quite well for you. Both are very good but number one is stunning.

Thanks guys, exactly what I was thinking. I used photo one as it had all the elements I wanted to test, bluesky, clouds, foregrund and white fluffy water. I have found it harder to deal with the blow highlights in AL than with RAW shooter, but at the expense of having control over everything else!

JT - yes the rocks are that colour, lots of pebbles and small rocks caught in the pool. The place just ooozed photographic potential, shame we had a hotel already booked....otherwise I could have stayed all day.

Agree with Wazza's comments. The second shot looks very nice - the first somehow doesnt seem very focussed on the water flow.....
