Is it possible to use my SB-50DX with the EOS Digital Rebel?
Recently bought the D-Rebel and want to leverage this flash if possible. Am concerned with compatiability and possible harm to the camera.
Want to avoid a new flash purchase... would rather invest in a new lens!
Appreciate any advice if someone know if this is possible.

I would have two great concerns about ever attempting such a thing:
1. The possibility of damaging the camera.
2. Being burned at the stake as a heretic.
I really don't think I'd try it. It's just too much of a longshot to be taking that kind of chance with your camera.

Be a bastard and send an e-mail to Canon and Nikon. :)
Seriously though, maybe some technician at some photo service might know...

It might not even work at manual settings.. it definately won't work automatically (TTL etc..)
I had Olympus' excellent FL-40 flash unit that was designed for there difitals like the E-10. Yes I tried it on the 10D.. and no it did not work at all....

Thanks for all of the advice.
I have been climbing the digital ladder starting with a sony Mavica then Nikon 990... Nikon 5700 and now a Canon Digital Rebel.
I bought the Nikon flash for the 5700 and have enjoyed the use of that camera but when a digital SLR hit the market (within my budget), I jumped on it. So far have enjoyed the Canon very much. Just trying to salvage some of the equipment... oh well.
Hmmm, guess my wife is going to laugh when I give her my wish list this year... lens, flash, lens, lens... LOL
Thanks again.
