Hello,
I was wondering if you guys could tell me a little bit about the file format that Canon uses to save its pictures. My ultimate goal is to take a random .JPG file that you could dload from the internet, transfer it onto the SD card and view it on the camera viewscreen. Any time I take a .JPG file that was not produced by my camera (or any other camera), rename it to a similar file format and put it in the right folder, my viewscreen comes up with a question mark in a little box and says "Incompatible File Format".
I did some research and found someone who claimed that Canon uses JPEG2000 file format for their pictures. So I used a program to convert to this format, but now the extension is .JP2, which is also unrecongnizable by my camera.
Am I going about this the wrong way? Is there a way to even do this? I would appreciate any help!
