Very nice composition, the tight crop works nice here.
Maybe a little too contrasty (thats a question of taste):)

Cheers

It's great! Althought, I'd like to see the boat in the back a little darker.

Very nice composition.

An alternative (not better, just different) might be to use one of Photoshop's quadtone presets.

Good idea Julie it not only gives the picture a pleasant warmer look it also brings back detail in the grey areas.

Cheers :)

thanks Julie. I Think it does look subtley better. What does Quadtone do? I don't have photshop, is there an equivilant in Paint shop pro?

this works really well as a b&w, especially with the relections in the water. nice shot

A duotone, tritone, or quadtone maps the tone ranges (highlights, midtones, shadows, etc) in the image to different colors. This allows apparent expanded tonal range in the print.

If you look at the attached image of the dialog, you will see the quadtone used on your picture. The curves on the left side show how the colors were mapped. You can alter those curves, or change the colors (by clicking on the color boxes) if you like.

I don't know if Paint Shop Pro has duotone capability. If it has anything like gradient (tone) mapping, I can make you a gradient that will simulate this quadtone.

(Thanks, AV Mode.)

thanks unreal, there isn't the same thing in paintshop pro, but there is 'curves' and levels, so I will have to have a fiddle....

thanks for the tip though......
