Glassy Eyes

Can anyone give tips on capturing the eyes in children's portraits? I have been focusing on them soo much, but haven't gotten a shot that truly draws you into them. I've got the lens and equipment, but not the skill. Thanks for your teachings and tips!

An off camera flash with a diffuser or a white card should give you catchlights... is that what you are looking for? I also get great catchlights from my large softboxes, but you have to get in pretty close to get the wet glassy look on the eyeballs themselves.
