I buy my lenses from http://www.d-d-photographics.com.au/ in sydney.
Their prices are extremely good and delivery is super fast - highly recommended.

www.CamerasDirect.com.au.
They are located on the Gold Coast. They are a quite a bit cheaper than d-d-photographics and Mark the owner is a real camera enthusiast and always available to talk to.

Hi Bonzaisushi,
Highly recommend B&H, have used twice in the last few months. Both orders placed Monday evening AEST and goods have arrived in Hobart Friday morning, delivered to my door. If invoice value is below $1000.00 there is no GST applied.

placed two orders from B&H so far, first was my 85mm i placed the order on Tuesday midday our time it was at my door 8:30am Friday monring and i could track the item the entire way ill give you the link http://wwwapps.ups.com/etracking/tracking.cgi?tracknums_displayed=&TypeOfInquiryNumber=T&HTMLVersion=4.0&InquiryNumber1=1ZE6W3116650303386 i was amazed at the service, i have tried to deal with local companies and its far from good to say the least, my second order was made today ($3,000 AUD) so im expecting to pay the 10% GST but thats cool im still saving about $500 AUD.
The lens i received was perfect no issues at all, i am of the impression B&H may test the lenses before shipping to make sure they are not duds, but i will be using them for most of my other gear, some things it works out the same as prices here if its between 1500-2000, but even so id still consider B&H simply because their delivery service is amazing, i know someone who ordered a tripod from a QLD Company and it took 4 weeks to arrive, upon arrival the items where broken, not the suppliers fault but the couriers who even tried to blame the client, postal system here is rubbish.
B&H all the way.

The retail prices of Canon lenses has dropped recently in Australia. I used to get lenses through qualitycamera.com.au, d-d-photographics.com.au, B&H and even Amazon. However, my last 2 lenses have been through local shops at pretty good prices, and I've got to try them out before purchase.
The price difference is still there for certain lenses, but quite a few have narrowed in price compared to US price + shipping.
