Anyone going to Sandown 500 in Melbourne, AU

Wondering if anybody is going? I wished I coudl get pit pass or media pass but I think that won't happen. Just wondering if anybody else local will be going? I'll be there trying to get some good photos.

Ok no replies.. Has anybody been to this racetrack before to shoot? Any good spots to get some good photos? tips?

Unless you are shooting for a media outlet AVESCO is not likely to grant a media pass. Application for any V8 rounds close two weeks prior to a race event.


Sandown is not the best track for taking photos if you don’t have a media pass. I think that you’re best chances of getting some good shots are at turn 9, 11 and 12. We look forward to seeing some photos. ;)

Cheers. Well I got contact within there so hopefully i'll get into some restricted areas. I got friends who will be showing some nitro drag cars there on the day who speaks directly to the management of Sandown so maybe fingers crossed i'll get in there.

I'll post some pics once I fill a few gigs :P

Thanks for the tips. I'll mark the corners on a map and take it with me. Anybody who gets GA tickets get to go to the Paddocks so maybe i'll get some photos of the drivers.

Just joined the forum......
I was at sandown. I am a scrutineer for cams so i get the best seat, I do a bit of photography as again i get the best spots. I did a bit of the grid girls photos. I have some good shots of Autobarn girls. I wonder how can i forward to autobarn and see if they want. they are good. Any ideas.
