a bit on basics

Hi guys,

am new to this forum but after going through some posts in G2 and other sections, looks really nice and helpful.

Am new to world of Digital photography. I have recently purchased an A70, and am enjoying exploring it.

I am not very comfortable with the manual modes, like manual setting of focus/shutter speed and all that.
But I really feel knowing that can help me better.

Would someone be able to tell me some basics about aperture/shutterspeed/focus ??
Meaning what should I know about these aspects when I am taking photos in different settings (like nature/night etc..)
