I read about this in the paper...does anyone ever go? Seems like the dawn hot air balloon launches would be a great photo op.

Heck, I've got Saturday free, I may just go shoot it. If I do, I'll let you know how it goes and post some shots.

Dan says to look for a XL mentally deranged guy who will be wearing shorts on a cold morning...with a domke bag strapped to his back (and a ball cap that says Lefty)...or you could just look for the guy who's getting too close to the flame burners of the hot air balloons...(he's a macro nut)....or in fact anyone flaming, running down the road.... :lol: that'd be him....I'll be the one calling 911. They've come to recognize my voice...

Hey guys. I didn't see this post until now. I was there.

This was my first balloon show ever. It was totally amazing. It goes from empty field to total chaos and color to an empty field in an hour and a half. Wild!

We (puddlepirate44) and I were there on Friday but I had camera troubles that kept me away on Sat. Which day did you go?

edit: I just checked out your gallery and all the balloons look different from the ones we saw...must have missed you.

I was there on Friday and Saturday morning.

Friday morning was quite peaceful. Saturday morning was pretty chaotic. What time were you there?

We got there around 4:30 to set up for the dawn flights (which got aborted) and then we stayed until they all rose...
