These little warblers, chiffchaffs I guess, were mostly inside the dogwood bush, but sometimes exposed themselves. I was shooting them downwards from the balcony. (Exif: 100-400@400, 1/160-250s, f/5.6, ISO400)

Did you stick it on the branch ? I have tried, and failed, to get decent shots of these but they are seldom still.
Very nice shots.

Very nice shots.:lol: You tried to stick ... but your'e right, it took quite a while to see them (after wondering what was going on in the bush, branches moving but nothing could be seen). When they were looking for insects on the leaves, they were a couple of seconds on the same spot. Hand-held & IS helped a lot to change the position and focus.

I has been so d*mn dry in Finland this summer that I haven't been able to wet my belly at all. And seems to be so that we will see no fungi this autumn. So I decided to look at the sky as well. ;)

Very nice set Olli. I think the first shot takes the prize. Very nice detail and exposure on a great looking subject. One very minor suggestion, maybe try cropping that OOF bird in the upper left of the frame as it steals some of the attention of that great looking bird. All in all, well done and great series! :)

Thanks, Wu and Keith. I was considering the cropping, but decided to keep it as it is because it shows also the 'normal' behaviour of Chiffchaff which likes to be in the shadows.

It's the little hint of bird in the back that attracts me to the picture. If cropped, it is just another bird photo; lovely and technically right- but bland.

Glad you didn't crop that first shot....the little hint of birdie in the background adds to the image. Well done.
