A few weeks ago I purchased a Ridata 150x 8 G.B. CF card. after taking about 20 GB of photos with it and formatting after each use, it stopped working.
No device could recognise it, therefore it couldn't be formatted. So I'm getting it replaced.

I own many 2 GB sandisk ultra II cards which I've used for 2 years and haven't had an issue.

Have you had any problems with memory cards and if so what brands.

Cheers

a lexar 40x went bad on me, not while shooting thankfully. Sent it to them, they sent me the same thing back, except now it only reads 512mb. I've tried every kind of formatting, looked for switches, still no luck.

I opended the cf door shortly after a burst on a d30, and had 6 shots lost, but the d30 didn't have any kind of write protection like the newer cams do, so that was my fault

in 6 years of digi shooting, only 6 lost pics isn't bad. Sandisk extreme and ultra2 are all I buy now, never had a problem and performance can't be matched

I forgot to add that I didn't loose any shots. I took 5 GB on it in one days shooting. Then uploaded them to my vosonic drive (the uploading didn't get interrupted), when I placed it back in the camera it couldn't be recognised.

Very strange.

Corey I also find the Ultra 2 cards to be great.

I asked the salesperson, how often are the Ridata cards faulty, he said.

About 1 in 300.

Lexar CF won't work in my Canon cameras any more, although you can read/write in the computer. So I just relegate it to use in my digital picture frame...besides it was a puny 64MB card, so no great loss for picture taking!

Lexar 1gig went bad - Lexar replaced it with a new card free of charge and the new one is fine. I bought a Sandisk Ultra II I gig to cover me while the Lexar was being replaced - now I prefer to use the Sandisk - I don't quite trust Lexar any more.
