Haha. Well unless you say which photo is yours, or you win, no one will know.;) It could be worse, you could have a shot that you think is a winner but doesn't get a single vote. Oh wait, that might be me.:(

I just sent a photo in & saw that I had sent a 4216kb file so I know it will be refused. I don't know how to reduce the kilobytes down to 222. I did reduce to the required Image size but apparently the kb's didn't reduce. Can anyone help with this?

You could try using www.resize2mail.com (http://www.resize2mail.com) try resizing it to 25 or 50% from the original

I change the quality of the image when i save it as a jpeg...that usually works for me...

Nope. Just one image. The competition is very tough. There are some excellent shots on there. Many very talented photographers on this forum. Congrats to all. I doubt I have a shot either.

Probably becuase its not an automated process and relies on one of the moderators donating their time to get them posted. The one thing you can be certain of is they will all be up before voting starts.
Or, the person sending the photos in hasn't read the submission guidlines and sent in photos that were to large (file size) or too wide or something.

A good question would be how do I vote for one photo multiple times? :) There is one there that is my favorite way ahead of many of the others.
Oh, and I realise you can only vote for each image once, just kidding.

I won't, not until I've voted at least.
As for it being mine, I had some reasonable shots taken this spring, but compared to the quality of some of the work here I'm not even going to enter them. They were some technically competant shots but this competition have a few that jump far beyond that and really capture the life of the creatures they shot.
That and you can't vote for your own photos. :)

Like most ,i too find the overall quality of the entrants to be stunning !
There's one in particular that's driving me nuts. It's awsome but flawed.
If *only* it were cropped right it could very likely win, but as it is that probably won't happen :(

Which one is it? the owner can maybe modify it ;-)

It would not be fair to say that before voting has been done. Not fait to the owner because it would probably cost some votes maybe the deciding votes and not fair to other contributers that one contributer get hints to improve the photo.

Yes tommy is right of course.
In fact after posting i wondered what i should say if asked which image.I had allready decided not to say.
Not just for the reasons Tommy gives but also because i may talk the owner into doing something that makes it look worse !I'm not exactly the worlds foremost expert on composition ;);)

Would croping a photo be in violation of the contest rules? I beleive the rules mentioned something about changinging the appearence, not sure if it applies to cropping or how much cropping would be permissable.
