whats the best filter plugins for photoshop 5.0 LE to sharpen up and generally improve average canon d30 pictures?

Actually it is not done via "filters" in Photoshop. With Photoshop LE which comes with the camera you don't have any downloads that can help. You must set sharpening, curves, levels, etc. yourself. This is kind of a "trial and error" thing although if you search "Photoshop LE" on a good search engine you will find lots of sites with lots of help.

"Unsharpen" is a filter function in Photoshop and one you need to use. See this link for a good suggestion of settings to try:
