Superb Fairy-wren

I have seen this bird on a lot of websites and just thought it is a beautiful bird....I was so excited to see it for real today! It is such beautiful bird. I was chasing it around for about 20 minutes and this is what I got.

both shot in Av f7.1 1/160 ISO1600 @ 300mm hand-held and Manual Focus.

They are such good looking little guys aren't they (this is the male). They can be very curious indeed and if you spend some time watching them try making some slight lip smacking sounds (kind of like kisses) or light taps with wood. You will be surprised how close they will come attracted to the sounds, a flash often attracts them also. I've had them come so close to my lens that I couldn't even focus.

They have such a joyus and happy whistle/song and always have a harem of willing females about the lower scrub with them. Lovely captures of this great beauty, well done

This superb Fairy Wren is indeed a superb one, nice colours, love the way the wrens have their tails cocked up gives personality to the bird, good shots Jason you have done very, very well.
