Most of you know that Samsung has developed the worlds first 3" LCD for use in digital cameras. If you haven't heard let me know and I can post a link.....
You think Canon is aware of this and it may be something they are going to incorporate into any of the new cameras coming out??

im not really bothered to be honest... wont help you take better pictures:) cameras seem to be getting bigger now to accomodate a larger screen as if thats all that matters.

That's a good point. I'm not to concerened as well as i don't look at mine too much during the day anyway. Kind of interesting though if Canon were to go to this technology. It's supposed to save quite a bit of battery power as well from what I read.
My 20D's screen is just fine and dandy with me.

Bert Keppler from Modern Photography quoted (few months ago) Canon Japan high-ups (he names names) to expect big things early 2007, including things like OLED displays.

I think the whole point of the samsung display is that it is full vga resolution so it will be useful in the video ipod/etc type market
frankly 2.5" is big enough for me, any bigger and the body will get bigger (unless the supposed 1Ds mk3 gets rid of the rear mono lcd and goes all colour lcd?)

I think the VGA resolution is the key, not the size—a 640x480 display just gives us more detail to preview during capture.
