I'm going to an event this weekend that i'm shooting, and just saw there is a 60% chance of rain. I'll be shooting with my 10D and my 70-200 f/4 L

What can I do on the cheap to help weatherproof my 10D and lens?

Trash bag would be the cheapest way. Remember the 10D doesnt have any weatherproofing so dont get it too wet. The L might handle weather a little better than the 10D, but not by much.

You can also buy weather proof covers to go over your body/lenses both at good photographics stores and online/ebay stores.

I wouldn't let the lens get wet either. It's not weather proofed like some of the other L's.

Yeah, but i'm leaving tomorrow, so ebay is not an option :)

So just fabricate a trash bag with a viewfinder hole in it?

Yes, you'd want to do that. You also want a separate bag for your lens. Also a few rubber bands. With the bag on the lens, make sure it has access from the bottom so you can zoom the thing.
