Evening everyone!

My first post on these forums and I look foreward to my time here, just thought I'd share with you one of my favourite pictures I've took this year. While on holiday in Banjul, The Gambia we were eating at the restaurant in our hotel and this little fella happened to walk up as we sat down and not leave my side for the whole meal!

Anyway here he is, being tempoarily blinded by the 350D flash!

Nice photo Tom. Well of course all cat photos are nice.

I suspect you had the red-eye reduction switched on. I've found that that doesn't work for cats. A human generally knows that you're taking a picture, knows what the sequence of flashes is for, and probably can't blink fast enough anyway. But I've found that my cats close their eyes instinctively - and very quickly! - when the red-eye thing starts up. The only way to get a flash photo of them is to catch them unawares.

Enjoy your time here. The natives are mostly friendly.
