I need help with finding a Windows XP or 2000 driver for my Canon FS2710 film scanner. I found one about a year ago and lost it. My new computer has XP and I found drivers for my printer and flatbed scanner.

Not perfect buy some advice here:

Link 1 (http://groups.google.co.uk/groups?q=xp+driver+Canon+FS2710&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=638b40b5.0203300652.6dcc4d90%40posting.google .com&rnum=3)

Sounds like you have to use the Win2K driver for it and also install your own ASPI layer (get from Adaptec).

Cheers

Dear Ian, Thank you for the Canon.UK link. I have found and downloaded the XP home driver for my FS2710 scanner. I may have to buy an up- dated SCSI card. Adaotec says to replace my AVA 2904E card with a AHA 2940 Ultra. My Epson flat bed scanner works fine with the old card and XP home. Thanks again for your help. Sincerely, George

Ian , I loaded the XP driver for my Canon FS2710 and it works with my original SCIS card. I use the scanner to digitize the image at 100% and 2710 DPI. All edit adjustments are done with Silverfast HDR. Have you worked with Silverfast soft ware? I find it does a better job then I could do with a high end drum scanner. George

Hi George,

No, I haven't used SilverFast but I have seen some results from using it and quite impressive they are too.

I don't tend to do any scanning these days as any film to digital conversions get done at the lab.

Cheers

Ian
