Yes, this question again. I have compared my friends 70-200IS and mine on my camera and my copy is noticably softer. The lens was mail ordered from B&H over a month ago, so returning it out of the question. Can I send it to Canon for a calibration or can I take it into a local store for servicing or do I have to send it back to B&H for servicing? What are my options and your recommendation?

You can send it to Canon Irvine to have them check it out for you. Let them know your concerns in a letter, and include copies of the warranty card and receipt. This is your best bet if you are dissatisfied.
