seems a little under exposed, and the angle of the shot is bothering me.. other than that, looks good :)

I think it's out of focus, but I can see what you were going for. Keep up the good work.

I really like what you were going for as far as the angled framing. Very artistic to me. I personally think the best save for this shot is to convert it to B&W.

On the technical side, was this shot handheld? If so, that and the combination of low-light and a high ISO (1600) would be your out of focus or softness problem. Also, at that ISO, you're not going to get the color saturation that you would get from a tripod with a slow shutter speed and low ISO.

I would try this again at ISO 100/200 and, again, with a tripod. A shutter release and the use of mirror lock up will also help the sharpness. For night photography, shoot some with the EC stepped down to -1/2 and -1 and see how those look. Mine are often best at -1/2.

Hope this helped.

PS: A good rule for handheld shots is for your shutter speed not to be less than the focal length you're shooting. For example, if your focal length is 125mm, don't go under 1/125. Your shot here had a shutter speed of 1/8 so, if you didn't use a tripod, that is definitely too slow for handheld.

Allright, thanks for the feedback. I was coming home late one night and the streetlights caught my eye. I tried converting to black and white, lightening it up and sharpening a bit in PS, but don't know if it came out any better... still trying to figure all the buttons out. Does this look any better?

I like it better as a black and white. It would be nice if it was straight through the bottom.

If you would like others to offer their tweaks of your images, you can set "image editing ok" on your profile. I have found this to be very helpful when looking for c + c.
