Hi again, I was wondering is there anything I should watch out for when hooking my D60 with a Studio Flash Unit? i.e. Are there maxium voltages that the D60 can handle? If so then in what voltage range should I stay with in order not to damage my camera, and is there anything else i should be aware of, before buying/using a flash unit. Once again I'm looking for everyone's help.
Thanks in advance,
CavScout

The conversative number quoted is 6V. Even though it's about Canon Powershots, this article (http://www.botzilla.com/photo/G1strobe.html) also applies to EOS cameras.

The 6 volt maximum applies to the hot shoe. The PC circuit varies from camera to camera. The 1D can handle up to 250 Volts in the PC circuit. To be absoloutely safe when using the hot shoe, you have at least two options:
1. Purchase a Wein Safe Sync, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=245292&is=REG

2. Fire your studio strobes wirelessly with a Pocket Wiard or Quantum Freewire set up. I use the Pocket Wizard Plus. It has the advantage of working wirelessly with certain Sekonic meters ( L358, L558 ), so you can fire your strobes wirelessly to meter them. No PC cords to trip over.

Thanks for the replies and first I'm going to look into a wein safe sycn and then I price a few wireless remotes , but I'm sure the wein safe sycn is cheaper.

Thanks
