Clone- What I'm I doing wrong?

Ok, sorry for all the simple questions I have been asking, but I'm trying to get grasp on this Photoshop thing, I will say with the help of you guys I am already 100 % better ....so I know about 5% of PS now :lol:

Anyway ... every time I want to use the CLONE tool a box keeps popping saying: "could not use the clone tool because area to clone has not been defined (option - click to define a source point).
I have played around, clicked everywhere i could think of and nothing! It keeps popping up. What I'm I doing wrong?? I have CS

First you need to alt+click (on a pc) on an area which matches the space you want to clone over and then move back over the area to be cloned and brush....hope this helps somewhat! Just practice a bit and you'll see how it goes!

OMG ... Thanks sooo much ... I didn't know that ACTUALLY meant PRESS option+click to selct area ..... DUH!! hehehe I'll learn...
