If you go to the farthest right link, "Transcend - Aura" ...those pics are wild. How is that done?? (with smoke?)

Smoke, flash, gel filters maybe or photoshoped in the color.

No smoke, 100% computer generated. You can tell because the lines, though they curve, they are too parallel to be anything in nature. Have to be man made somehow. Most likely, computer generated.
I'll bet a hundred dollars.

In fact, looking closer at it, I am even more certain it is CG.
Notice the lines in the upper right loop, the fact that they maintain the same distance from each other even when changing direction and overlapping. And, even with overlapping, there is no turbulent interference.
Nope, that is the CG equivalent of a Spirograph. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirograph)

Another thought is perhaps smoke and a flashlight, and the exposed areas are parts that were hit with the flashlight, giving it an appearance that it was the smoke trail itself?

Actually Radtech, think about how the smoke would be formed. Air currents. And air currents flowing in one direction may not mix up the smoke as much as you think. As far as the parallel lines go, i can't find any. The only one i see (the upper right shot) looks very close but is tapered slightly. I also think i see noise from a digital sensor. It looks like they were shot in RAW, but i could be rong. Noise can be added digitally. I wou;dn't be so quick to judge these as CG.

Incense? and colorized in photoshop?
It's called the Smoke Light choreography. (Galleria)

Onw,
After reading your point of view, I went back and took another look. In addition to looking just at the single image that presents itself as the "Aurora", I also looked at the wider field of view shots, which include more of the design.
I agree that my assessment of CG is likely wrong.
Seeing more of it, in the wider shots, I agree that you are more likely correct than I was. I do now agree that is probably is real live smoke. (The reason that I keep using qualifying words like "likely" and "probably" is that this is the kind of stuff that CG is good at, and since I wasn't there at the time, it is hard to be absolutely sure. With my luck, the moment I emphatically say, "YES it is real smoke", the artist will come aboard and say, "NO it was CG". No point in setting myself up to be wrong twice in the same post.)

I will back you with $25 (maybe we can find 2 more?). Those clear-cut spirals that repeat themselves in several images look questionable to me.
When you find the way to edit, let me know

I disagree about the CG accusation... these images can easily be created in PS via the Hue/Saturation/Colorize feature. Then he desaturated (in some form) out some highlights on some images. (or B/C)

When I was in college we did some like this with smoke and a colored lamp. They used to sell them in the 70's to light up the aluminium Christmas trees.
