Has anyone ordered anything from ExpressCameras? If so, how is their Track Record. They seem to have good prices on the 10D, and the Canon Lens. Here's their web url for the 10D, and lens.

If the vast majority of resellers has a price tag on a 10D that says '$1499 only' then just take a smell on the '$1,189.00' that this silly site says. Smells fishy, don't it? I'd take RFMSports' advice...

My experience with this merchant was very negative. I was purchasing a Canon Powershot G2 for my nephew, and they had one of the most competitive prices on the web. After placing the order the sales man asked me if I needed any accessories. I did not. Several weeks later, and many telephone calls later, I find out that my order was never processed, and that they were temporarely out of stock. I finally understood that they were willing to sell me the camera immediately if I was to buy any of their super expensive "accessories". I wrote them off my book forever.

Yes, that is a standard "bait and switch" tactic used by more than one of the Brooklyn camera dealers.
I wonder if Dell will get tarred by the same brush, after its recent battles.

Rocky, figure out how much money you might have lost on Express, and then kindly donate that to a charity. I suggest for the retirement home for unwed photographers.

It's done all the time. Best advice: stick with known dealers with good reputations. If you really want to save money, start a carpool.

Hi!
> What on earth is that stench I smell over here in the UK? I know, it is woofy (smelly) fish!
Honestly, there is a problem with the price that I see immediately at : $1,189.00! All the reputable dealers like RitzCamera (where I got my 10D w/ Big ED) and B&H sell it for $1499.95. I would be wary, bigtime. It amazes me that there are people out there that keep that place around. The no package, no deal is very common in places like that. If I had called them and they got overly pushy or didn't like them, I'd thank them for their time and politely get off the phone (something like I'll think about it) and go elsewhere. I would have seen the price, checking the website and said something isn't right here. I honesly would rather spend the extra $300 in piece of mind alone and know that I'm dealing with a world class business like B&H. There are many others here that can vouch for B&H. I have now twice put in orders for around $2,000 for stuff from B&H and not had to worry one bit. From what I haveseen, I'm really impressed with their staff. I look forward to going there in person in NYC one day. I believe it is Holly that said that it (B&H) is a world class store. This whole 10D for $1,189.00 way is almost amungst as the E-Bay way. Who wants a 10D for under a grand and payment options of only Western Union or cash or money order and is overseas? Smell that fish again. I certainly do! Enough said...
Cheers from England,
Canuck

I honestly think you would be quite happy with either B&H Photo in New York or Calumet Photo in Chicago. Both have been in business for a long time and have treated me very well. B&H's prices are a bit better on some items but you can't really go wrong with either. They are professional and honest.

I bought my 10D via online and phone from Cardinal Camera. From them to in my hands was $1420.00. No strings attached and no problems. Everything that was supposed to be in the box was there.
Good luck
