Hi All

I have had bad experiences from using BP-511 clones in my Canon D60.

I have since went back to 7dayshop.com from a friends recommendation. It now appears to be a different make from my previous orders.

How do I initially charge it. The instructions say that I should abide by the chargers guidelines but a friend says to condition the battery by leaving it on charge (for the first charge only) for 16 hours.

The battery is a 'Fameart' 7.4v - 1200mAh in a red/ white/blue box.

What do I do? Please help!

Lithium Ion batteries (such as the BP 511) are advertised as not having a "memory effect", and thus conditioning should not be a concern.

Just charge it for the duration that the charger usually recomends such as a 1 hour charger or a 3 hour charger.

I don't know if the D-60 charger is the same functionally as the 10D charger I have (I know they are different units) but with the 10D.. they tell you let it continue to charge after the light stops blinking for several hours.

To be honest some time ago I bought BP-511 and found out they sent me non-Canon one. But I have still no problems using it. Just charge it like you charge Canon one for 100% and I think that shouldn't be a problem. By the way, I also do have D60. :)

Hi
I have one made by Hahnel, and have had no problems with it. It is even 300Mah better than the Canon one! Bonus! The other one is, of course the Canon that came with the 10D.
