A few shots from the forrest

Most of the time I find my critters in the garden but yesterday I took my camera with me for a short walk in the forest:

1: A bigger and more aggressive ant than the garden variety:

Wow, #1! Did a very good job on this image, composition and DOF just really make that Ant pop out of the image. Very very sharp and lighting is just right. #2 I think is two shield bugs, one of them a juvenile I suspect.

Sometimes I reduce the flash glare that ants often show but on the original one posted and the crop above I have not done that.

This second version is de-glared a little.
