Quite a simple question this:
To all the experienced Canon or CDPF users, what is your feelings on the future improvements/price movements of the current Canon sensor?
More particulary, how long do you predict it to be before the 'real' 1/1 sensor comes out (over the current 1/1.6) at a price that is around the 10D $2500-$3500 mark (rather than the 1D's out of reach $10,000+)?
Thanks all.

I've seen lots of people try to out-guess manufacturers about what they might do.
Rarely has one been right.
Sit back and ejoy the ride. (-:

3 words come to mind: Not soon enough! That sums it all up.

I'll add my $0.03 ($0.02 adjusted for inflation), I don't see where a full size (36 x 24 mm) sensor is such a big selling point. I never owned a lens shorter than 24mm anyway, equivalent to the short end of Canon's 18-55.
I rarely needed such a lens and managed just fine without it. Now if I *really* need a wider angle I just take a few images and stitch them together. Time consuming, yes, but not a big deal compared to buying, carrying, and switching to another lens.
If it meant another 50% (or even 25%) added to the price of the camera I wonder how many Canon would sell compared to smaller sensor? My guess is 'not many'. The smaller sensor delivers as good an image as most amateurs need, how many of us can (or would) print larger than 13x19?
No that any of this matters anyway, Canon has their marketing strategy and a few potential customers are not likely to change it.
