I'm sorry if I missed this on the forum and if there is an answer please point me to it;

I would like to know exactly how the Canon flash (say the 550ex) works with the 10D. I know EXACTLY how it work with the "film" bodies but I havn't found anything about the digital's.

An example is say I set the 10D to Manual and set the shutter to 1/60 and the fstop to f8. ALso, I have the camera on "spot" metering and the "subject" is on the center spot (which I have selected). What does the camera do in ETTL mode? In TTL mode? If the flash is set to ETTL and I set the flash to +1 what does the camera do.

The explaination's I've read about the 550 on a film body are very clear and exact. Is there some document out there for the 10D?

These are just some samples, I have many more questions about how the 10D is "supposed to work".

Thanks for any help!!! This board is very usefull, I have learned a lot over the last 6 months from this board...

The 550EX will only work in ETTL and Manual Flash on Canon digital cameras. Please see the link on the first page of this forum to the bible on Canon Flash.
