Beautiful.
Great colors on the first shot. I would probably crop a bit just off the bottom of that one. The darkness there takes away a bit from the falls.
The second one has a great perspective. Seems a bit dark in the background, but I like the look of the water. Clean and cool.

You right about it being dark, almost no light gets thought the thick trees overhanding the creek.. I was trying to get what light I could find to highlight the creek.

This great shot brings back memories. I haven't been there since my undergraduate days at VPI (now Va Tech). As I remember that water is ice cooooold even in the summer. Thanks for sharing.

Yes the water is very cold and the only people who went in were the ones that didn't mean too,,,Seems as soon as you set up to take a photo someone has to see if they can walk all the way out to the fall. Funny to me was the one who only made it there dry but not back...LOL

Its maybe 15 feet under the fall but it full of rock just under the suface. The top of the falls is blocked off so people can't get to the top,,but its about 300 feet tall so not many would want to jump off

plus you would have to jump off halfway up the fall becasue if you were to jump from the top you would hit the middle. so it seems

I prefer that 2nd one although i would avoid shooting falls during the day with harsh light.
