Following on from my other thread, here's the sideways, tyre-squealing smoking stuff. :)

One of the major problems is that in the practice sessions, the cars run 1 after the other and if the wind is fairly light, the smoke hangs over the track...

I wouldn't want these guy's tyre bills..

The BMW was easily the loudest car on the track. In the Drift finals they run the cars 2 at a time, which makes for some interesting "moments" :)

Not sure about the colour. Maybe Barbie is into Drifting

2 into 1 does go !

My personal favourite car of the day. Stephen Evans in his Skyline R32

Hey Geoff
I was there too at the media section, if I knew you were about I would've asked for some advice.

I agree about that BMW, it could easily damage your ears
Which lens did you use for those shots?

They're a mixture of 100-400L and Sigma 120-300. At this time of the night i can't remember which is which

I've just noticed i messed up the thread title...D1FB indeed

Thanks for the comments everyone :)

It felt very strange to begin with, being on the other side of the fences, opening gates to get into shooting positions etc, but having been to Silverstone several times before i had a good idea of where to go.

For the "Drifting" part of the event they were only using the Brooklands/Luffield/Woodcote complex which made it a bit easier on the old legs. I got to see a bit of behind the scenes stuff too (Race control etc) which was very interesting.

Back to reality this weekend, probably at Oulton Park for the Gold Cup and shooting with the rabble :D

Great shots! They seem a bit dark in my monitor though.

Very nice, much better than my fence riddled efforts. Decided to leave out the ones of Marc drifting his golf cart then?
