Went this weekend to watch the first ever Baja GB event in Mid Wales. The event was very well run and is trying to get FIA status so as to be included on the Baja tour.

Below are 8 shots from the 2 days, the only thing was it rained and then rained again even harder (2nd pic) on the Sat afternoon so we got absolutely drenched, thankfully the rain covers stood up to the job.

The last shot was from the press side of the event as I ended up as the 'official' photographer for part of the podium ceremony

C&C always welcome

Really nice selection of pics from the different classes. I didn't expect to see quad bikes in there!!!

Well done on the 'officialdom' :-)

Nice stuff. The overcast skies lent to some great saturation in the images! Good job capturing the action!

Nice shots Andy, I was there shooting all weekend, very wet and muddy.
Was a good weekend although far too much waiting around between runs!
We didn't stay for the closing ceremony as we were just too wet and knackered, madness starting the first run at 06:00 !
I will post some pics when I get time, although here's a couple I paricularly liked:
Damn, links not working! (I'm on holiday so can't access the source files)

Here's the links to the images for now

The one chasing has a big block Chevy 8 litre engine! (http://www.swaffs.co.uk/index.gallery.php?gid=150&img=95)

The Bowlers were very impressive to watch, although I felt the track probably wasn't challenging enough for them. (http://www.swaffs.co.uk/index.gallery.php?gid=150&img=62)

Finally the Quads seemed to be having the best time, getting completely caked in mud! I spoke to the three riders on Sunday to ask for the best places to shoot them on the 43Km circuit, they looked at the map, and could only say "I have no idea where the jump is, it looks nothing like the map when your out there, we don't bother reading just go out and have a blast"
HERE (http://www.swaffs.co.uk/index.gallery.php?gid=149&img=71)

The lighting was a nightmare, dark clouds/ bringht sunshine/ dark forest tracks/gaps in the trees !
It's the first time I really needed to shoot in manual to make sure I could get the shot, and ISO 1600 alot of the time.
