I was shooting a timber carnival this weekend and didn't realize just how hot things were getting until I snapped a photo and my camera just kept clicking. Got an error 99 then nothing at all but the clicks. I recharged both my battery packs but the camera starts trying to click photos even before I turn it on. Sounds like the button is stuck or something. I can do nothing at all with it on any setting--no review screen or anything.
I've had my camera for a year and a half and this is the first problem. I use it ALL the time.
I soooooo hate having to send my camera off for repair. Can anyone help?
thanks much!

first up welcome th the forum! secondly I'd say it's bad news (sorry!) One of our local guys had this a while ago and the shutter needed replacement. While your's may not be that bad, I'd say it still needs a visit to a repair center.
Only thing you can do to isolate the problem is make sure the camera is set to one-shot. If this stops the problem then it could possibly be the shutter-button (switch actually)
if not... :-(

Yep, sounds like a trip to the Canon Doctor.
I guess you´ve let it cool down and tried it...

Ugh!
Thanks for your replies. I had already done all that you say, so I'm off to the camera shop today. Perhaps I should stop on a street corner and hold up an "Will work for camera" sign on the way? Only backup I have right now is my wonderful old film cameras . . . but I'm so used to taking hundreds to get one good one . . . ah well.
thanks again.
