Today I thought I would get into the bush so I had the sun behind me. Vegetation included blister bush, sword sedge and a wide variety of very prickly things.
I waited in a tiny clearing, camera poised for what seemed like hours, birds twittered all around but none came near.
The mudlark was waiting when I came out so I got the consolation prize :)

#1 here too.

#2 has too much movement in the eye.

Much enjoyed your intro narrative!

Reminded me of all the bird hides I have attempted.

Thanks for the comments, while in the bush I got a couple of wild flower pics and saw a very interesting fungi, it looked like a golfball. I did a bit of gardening to get a clear shot at it, took the shot, then I touched it. Want to see a pic of a golfball? :)

Nice shots of the lark. #1 is outstanding! Some subject motion blur in #2 but nothing you can do about it.
Good work.

Nice work. The first shot is the keeper, good exposure and sharp focus! The 2nd appear a little soft and perhaps a bit tight in the frame, tail is cut off.

This actually isn't a Magpie. It's around half the size of a Magpie, and goes by the names of Magpie Lark or Mudlark.

There certainly are some cool looking birds in Australia. That bird has to be a nightmare to expose and you pulled it off in the first image, Very nice!
