I headed out to Snowshoe this past weekend for an awesome time. I race Downhill Mountain Bikes, and they had a race, plus Bike Magazine's Monster Park this past weekend.

Conditions couldn't have been better for the race, but unfortunantly, Monster Park got rained out. I sat around in the rain for practice and got a few good shots:

These were all taken with a 10D Canon 70-200 f/4. And.... I had a broken left wrist from the race the day before :(

C&C appreciated

nope... I think it's a shadow of a guy with a moose behind him. ;) What was your shudderspeed. I would have liked to have seen the figures a little sharper..but very cool shots.

those are some pretty sick pics. number 1 and 4 are my favorites.

on another note i have no idea how you held your 10D with your 70-200 with a broken wrist, cause i can't hold my 30D with the 70-200 with two perfectly working hands. Good Job.

Same here but good shots, any chance of a bit of PP to add a bit more saturation etc! Think that would make these images pop a bit more!

I think #3 could stand to have the bottom cropped off a bit so you lose the ramp. I think that would really help the photo. Also some saturation increases would be nice.

I agree with the saturation, but if you crop off the ramp, you don't know what he is riding. It would just look like he's floating in air.

True, but I feel that such a little bit of ramp adds nothing to the image. If you could see more of it and actually tell that it was a ramp then i would agree. As is, without looking at the rest of the series, that wood could be just about anything.

I take your point, I guess maybe its because i'm a mountain biker that I see that and automatically know its a ramp, and that maybe other people won't see it that way. I wish I could have gotten more of the ramp in the shot, but alas, they only did a few practice runs before the evil rain came!

Ahhh but were you drunk?
I've walked 4 km home after breaking my ankle playing footy before.
I broke the ankle at about 11.30am and left the pub to walk home at about 12.30am.

edit- of course I didn't know it was broken at the time or it would have hurt more.
