I've returned now three, four times to this shot.

There is something which calls me to stare at it. I can hardly see anything in the dark areas, the composition is quite standard, and it is not the sharpest shot in the world ... But there is something ...

I personally like the different shapes and sizes in the windows.
I think I like the shot even better with half the top and bottom cropped off... brings more emphasis on the windows but you can still see the framing of the shot and surroundings.

Nah, I like it with the ceiling and floor in the picture, it gives it a sense of depth.

Great shot, I've alwse loved shots of old abandonded places. Henk van Rensbergen (www.abandoned-places.com) is pretty much my photograpic hero.

You are definately on to something -Very good exposure don't change that. I also like the cropping with a greyer area on top than below. This all seems like a very good natural weight to me - But the image needs something more to lift in to the next league. Give the viewers eye something little to focus on - perhaps a face in one of the windows some colour ?

I guess I shot film way too long before going to digital. The white thing on the outside of the window looks like a giant strip of film, sprocket holes and all.
