All the Canon offices probably got the info and/or time to realease it at the same time. Just shows who has the fastest or most eager website developers.
I want the 50mm f1.2

Wow I was just thinking what if they made a 50mm L. Nice. Hopefully, it's really cheap.
Man, I boguth a 350D entering the dSLR world a few months back with 50mm 1.8, and 70-200 f4L....now everything's better...yeah, I know that's how it goes, but it didn't have to be everything I got!
Keeping in mind though, the new feature of the 400d appear to be mostly 'consumer' upgrades 9perfectly reasonable for a consumer-aimed camera):
10MP (Mp war)
picture modes, anti dust, larger screen etc..

I think site is down now, but did it say the IS was 4-stops handhold ability?

There was a 50L. The 50 1.0 to be technical about it.
You are funny. It'll defintely be priced near the 85L's price. 50 1.4 is the deal one.

Well, I meant cheap, relatively. Obviously a lot more than f1.4, but hoepfully a big improvement on that. I guess there really isn't much they can do, atleast IQ-wise - maybe sharp to edges wide open? :p
Yeah, I pretend the 50 f1.0 doesn't exist - isn't it like a ridiculous price and not even THAT great?

Probably a "knock off"

? "knock-off"?
Anyway, if the 70-200 F4L IS is f-stops, doens't taht make it the new generation of IS?

So the posted picture of the Digital Rebel XTi was fake???
:)
Just as a side note, before the 30D came out, pic's of the new 35D were everywhere as well, never to pan out.
We should all wait till the 24th and find out.

Well in the supposed new L version, the build quality would likely be of that like the 35L. You'd have ring usm, of course. And hopefully even better in low light, and one of the faster focusing lens(hopefully) and then more sharpness at the f/1.4 range(compared to the f/1.4).

Interesting - though you did not pick up the best available even at that time....like the 50/1.4 or the 70-200 2.8 IS ;) Maybe now is the time
