Mike has had his '71 Road Runner since he bought it new in 1971! Even some of the upholstery is original.
It's 440cid engine was dynoed at 550 bhp. It's 12.5:1 with a medium cam for the street. Trans is Torque-Flyte A-727 (http://www.allpar.com/mopar/torqueflite.html), with a 8-3/4" 4.56 rear end.

Exterior wise '71 was my favorite year. But I never have liked the interior of that year. This '71 is very nice.
Did it come with the 440 or was it originally a 383 car?
The T/A exhaust is a nice touch.:)

Did it come with the 440 or was it originally a 383 car? I'd guess that since "he bought it new in 1971!", it was ordered that way. The 383 with the 4.56 rear end would be no slouch though! As they might have said in JAWS, "you're gonna need some bigger tires!" Looks like We're approaching the Holland Tunnel. Yeah. The only thing I don't care for is that hood scoop. Seems like they could have come up with something that didn't look like a 3-year-old hacked it up in dad's chicken coop. (Sorry, Mike!) ;)

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Looks like a real beast. I'm not too crazy about the floor mats though!!!

I don't think I've ever mentioned how I like the way you highlight the cars in you shots with the dim outer border. Very clever.

I'm not too crazy about the floor mats though!!! If I'd aimed a bit lower you'd have seen more of the Tasmanian Devil. http://photo.klein-jensen.dk/smilies/0326.gif I like the way you highlight the cars in you shots with the dim outer border. About as many like it as hate it, Alan! ;) Partly, I like to include more of the other cars in the background.

Thanks again for the comments!

I'm not as discriminating, Mike. I love them all. ;)
