Heh
almost silly, they really seem to be early putting products out for sale - this is however a big seller so some credibility must be given - no prices as yet though

and excellent marketing tool to get people to your website. Become the first one to allow preorders.

Yep, awful that retailers try to make money. Did you know they charge more than they pay for the item, too? Shocking. :)

At the moment they are listed at 0 euros so I ordered 10 of each. I mean if they are free why not? I was tempted to just ask for all of them but I didn't want to be greedy.
Course in reality the 400D is prolly the only one I can afford. :)

they have no more info than the rest of us, but insist on selling items that don't technically exist. Thats not good business. Canon won't like it, and if the specs are wrong,t he customer sure won't like it

Standard delivery time of the new Canon 50mm f/1.2: 5 work days. Yeah right. If that is true, I buy one. :-)

Canon won't like it, and if the specs are wrong,t he customer sure won't like itThen don't shop there. Preordering is a process developed in response to customer demand for the service. It satisfies the customers desire to not only be the first to have a new item, but the first to actually pay money for an item. Consider this conversation between Mr. Dumass and his neighbor, Mr. Wonup:
Mr. Dumass: "I see Canon has a new camera coming out. I'm getting that as soon as it hits the shelves!"
Mr. Wonup: "Oh, yeah....the 400D. I've already got it preordered."

they're both dumbasses to me ;)
once its officially announced I don't have a problem with it, but as a person whose worked in stores where we had to play by the rules, and were rewarded for doing do, its painful to see these shops doing it. I've had customers who have put down money on a 3d. expain that one

they're both dumbasses to me ;) I had initially named them both "Mr Dumass," but it got too confusing. There are probably more Mr. Dumasses buying cameras than not.
