Hello!

I'm wondering if there's anyone from Arizona that knows where good spots are for photographing trains? If so, is there a regular schedule?

I'm slippin'! I couldn't find anything searching the web, searching the Phoenix websites, searching the railroad sites.

Any/all guidance is appreciated!

Thanx!
Al

Can't help with the Phoenix area specifically but here's a resource for the rest of AZ.

If he doesn't chime in here, send Belmondo (one of the mods) a PM. He is very knowledgeable with respect to trains (wow I can't believe I just complimented him:D :D ).

Sorry....I can't help. There have to be lots of places, though. Once you get out of the cities proper, there's nothing but unobstructed views. I've often wished I had a chance to prowl around the Flagstaff area with my camera. The BNSF runs through there, and being a mountainous area, the trains usually have lots of power on them. Also, I've been a fan of the old Santa Fe since I was a kid. Trust me when I tell you, that's a very, very long time. They always had the coolest looking equipment, and still do, even after the merger.

The UP runs through Phoenix and Tucson, and that's not all that interesting for me because it's the same line that runs through here. I'm really sick of looking at yellow locomotives.
