I see disks advertised that say they are printable.
Which printer will do this job. Will such a printer, cost a arm and a leg?

A few of the Epson printers do, such as the new Stylus Photo R300 which lists for $179.00.
Check this URL for more Epson printers that print directly on to a CD/DVD:

WOW! That's great! Never knew that Canon had one of those out already. Unfortunately they're not available in the USA or Canada...yet! :( Or are they????

Does this mean we get product FIRST, that isn't available in the USA?
Still they will pay less when they DO get it.
I have had an i865 for about 2 weeks now, the cd printing is VERY good, nice colours (esp on white printables rather than the silvery grey type) the 6x4 photo printing is sooo easy (special paper holder, no messing around with rolls of paper a-la epson)
Overall print quality is very good.
I have an Epson 950 at work and I think the Canon is just as good and is over £100 cheaper.
I have not really looked into longevity of prints. I bought it on impulse :-)
I have it hooked up to a mac and also print through the mac from a pc, and it works very nicely, the only downer is the printing software "Easy photoprint" only works with Jpegs, not even tiff.

I wonder how they do it, Looks on the surface exactly like my new i960, I wonder if the adapter will be available for that model here in the USA?
I have to assume it's an adapter based on what the write up said, Or they must really be different on the inside..

Yep they do look remarkably similar to the i960 ....
They have a cartridge thing you put the CD in and it loads in via the front
of the printer, i guess feeding the CD in via the back and getting it to bend
round proved too difficult ! :)
