Hi all, I just thought i would start a thread to see if anyone was hoping for more than Canon is offering this year.
Don't get me wrong i think both the 50L and the 70-200 f/4 IS look great, but were you hoping for something else?

I guess i'll have to wait for that 200 1.8 MKII

Yesterday I said that! LONGED for that!!! NOW, they'd better not do that or my husband will kill me since I just bought the current version....although he just said, no, no death...he'd buy it for himself...double agonies!

I didnt find mine to be all that great, and havent used it alot lately, but after reading some post of others issues with it, I think I will take it to Canon and see if it can be calibrated

Let's get really silly, 300mm F1....and you thought the 1200mm F5.6L was big.

I'm was hoping that the 24-105 2.8 IS or the 24-70 2.8 IS would come out soon.

Good luck for all of us.

The 50mm f/1.2L and the 70-200mm f/4L IS were both highly anticipated lenses and people had been talking about them literally for years... But now I see about nine people complaining for every one person rejoicing. I guess they weren't expecting it to be that expensive. Although the 50mm f/1.2L pales in terms of cost compared to the f/1.0L...

I was kind of hoping for a new and improved 100-400 (my next lens). Maybe with "normal" zooming or latest version IS? Or at least IS on the 400 f/5.6. Or a 10mp 30D+, or...

They should probably just do 200 f/2 IS. That would be sweet.

Anyway, you saved yourself money if you aren't impressed. :)

Gosh I hope there isn't anymore to come! I just can't afford it. Lets see... How much equity do I have in my home? :(

The 50mm sounds interesting to me, but I want to see how much better it performs over the 1.4 before I even consider it. Don't know if the extra stops are going to be worth over $1k more... The 1.4 might just be good enough for me.

I'm not disappointed with any of the lenses. The only one I'm excited about is the 50L. I'm not interested in acquiring the 70-200 f4L IS for obvious reasons. I'm disinterested in the new Rebel, but I'm not disappointed by it. I would like to see Canon Introduce a new zoom lens in the 200-400 range.

Me too, kind of. I would like Canon to cover the 100-300 range at f/2.8 like the sigma that I have. I only say this because I think if Canon did it they would include IS. The sigma is a terrific lens, but I feel like I need a little help handholding this beast:D !

Travis, its a handholding lens. But then that's why the 70-200 IS is so awesome. :)

Think of the Sigma 120-300 as a 300 2.8.

Trust me I do. That is the only reason I bought it in the first place. I have used a friends 300L f/2.8 many times, this was my only way to get close to the results I got with his lens (budget and all:( ). And on the plus side I can get the closer shots that he can't now!  .

I meant a monopod lens. Whoops., The 70-200 would be your handholding one while the 120-300 would be your 300 2.8. There we go.
