The contest is closed and the voting is open, so this is your opportunity to best for the best photo that meets the theme.
The first rule of voting. Please please please leave a comment when you vote. This contest really comes alive when people just drop in,say hi and perhaps tell us why they voted for a particular photo. It makes the contest more fun and gives really great feedback for the photographers.
Other stuff:
The poll will remain open for 7 days.
You can vote for two photos. Your vote will be public. Remember you need to vote for both photos at the same time.
Please don't vote for your own photos or invite your friends to register and vote for you. This is considered cheating and will be taken very seriously by the moderation team. See here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=182925) for more information.
As before there will 1st, 2nd and 3rd place positions.
I will be announcing the names (aliases) of the people who win.View the photos here:

The voting closes on the 1st Sept but I'm away until the 4th, so there will be a delay of a few days before I will be able to announce the results. Happy for the winners to come forward and announce themselves if they like :D
Good luck everyone

Looks like a small but interesting contest. The ones I voted for really fit the theme.

I voted for:
2 - "Is Anybody In There?" because I love the idea behind this, and that it was planned/executed. Would like to see it in B&W with a contrast boost. ;)
and
3 - "Corning Glass Illusion" I am from Corning - I had to! :D

I voted for:
6 (The Toy) because that was always one of my favorite Kids in the Hall sketches.
11 (Small World) because it deserves it. (And I'll bet I can guess who did this one. ;))

I wish I could put instructions on a photo. "Must be 6 feet back from monitor to see the effect."

I really liked 11. After that it was a tough choice between 3 and 13. My vote went for 3 but I do really like 13 as well. All 3 looked well planned and though out. A few of the others did seem a little too much like goof ups despite the fact that a lot of effort probably went into them. :)

I voted for 8 and 13.
I'm a fan of pool so that's why I voted for 8. The only photo I really cared for was 13. I liked the composition and lighting in 13 and since the photographer added the illusion of people it certainly fit the contest. The others were at odd angles, poor quality or just not interesting to me.
I hope these are the type of comments you were looking for.

I voted for #11 and #13.
#11- is awesome! I love the contrast between the white and the "world"
#13- is just creepy and fit the subject very well!

Exactly! I voted for these as well, for the exact same reasons.

I didn't vote for 11 because I felt it was the only photo in there that required PP to make the effect. The others were all done with the camera.

I had a hard time choosing but in the end I decided to stick with #5 and #13. 13 just gets your imagination running and makes you wonder who else we're sharing this place with... scary:(. My other vote had to go to #5, great title for the image. :)

I'm a bit curious about that one too. Especially now that it's taking off with the votes.
3) Post processing - nothing that substantially changes the original composition of the image. Click here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=96180)for clarification.
I'd like to know how the white background of the shot is achieved with such smoothness. I guess we can find out after the contest is over.
DISCLAIMER: I don't have any photos entered in this contest.

I voted for it assuming that the poster knew the rules and either has already proved that the image was done without PP editing, or will be able to prove if they win. I agree that the background does look artificial but just because I wouldn't know how to do it doesn't mean nobody else does. :)

In reference to number 11. I was in no way trying to negatively affect the outcome of this poll. I don't have an entry and I didn't know who's entries were who's. I have seen the original and it's quite an image with very little PP. I was wrong in my assumption and would remove the comments if bills hadn't already quoted me. LOL
So for everyone's information, it is a photo effect made with the photographer's skill not in photoshop but in setup and with the camera.
The moderator of this contest can feel free to edit/remove my comments as seen necessary.

Hopefully they will share as it is nicely done. :)

Reflection/refraction, originality, and lasting interest -there is no choice for me other than 3 and 11.

Small world gets my vote....

The small world entry is mine - I was waiting for this contest to be declared over, but since it just seems to have faded away instead I'll out myself.
The image is a medium to large sized water droplet on a CD, refracting the backyard at our summer home. I controlled the glare (to keep from having a starburst on the drop itself) by holding a small diffuser over it. The CD created the greyish background under the drop (you can see the lines in it if you look closely) and I dodged/burned it a bit for the gradient. I cropped out the area I wanted and added a bit of sharpening - that's it.
Created with minimal / permissible post processing. :D
There are other refraction water drop images on my website if you'd like to have a look.

Congrats Athena! Very impressive photo and I did vote for it. I was amazed at the creativity in just setting up the shot. Mine was #13 - We were not alone. I took it during this years 24 hour Relay for Life cancer walk since I had a friend who had cancer. I wanted to create a photo that symbolized those who passed away due to cancer. I waited till almost dark then set up the tripod and shot this with my 17-40 f/4L with a shutter speed of 4 seconds @ f/22, ISO 100, as the walkers came around the track.

Congrats, Athena! When I said "And I'll bet I can guess who did this one", you were who I meant. I knew it was you! :D

Not predictable, but you have superb skill and a style all your own. As with other artists, we can visit the galleries and say, "ah, that's an Athena" :)
