Nice picture - and the right identification on the flower! Pretty good if you are a beginner. I love doing flowers and the critters that use them.

Thanks Robbin. My neighbor had them growing along their garage and were going to cut them down but asked if I wanted them . I have them growing all over my back yard now.

Welcome and very nice job. I have also heard them called althea. I remember hummingbird moths were especially attracted to them where I grew up in the Texas panhandle.

Thanks Dale. The switch from s1 to the xt was a challange for me. It took about 2 months for me to learn it was me, not the xt that was messing up. The 28-135 is the only lens I bought other then the 18-55 kit lens that came with the xt. I want a good macro lens, a big zoom, the 10-22 and a good 30mm lens. Bugs, flowers, and birds are my favorites. Mountains are nice but you dont see too many of them in kansas.

Thank you Mark. You are right about the hummingbird moths. I'm starting to see a lot of them right now on the rose of sharon.

One more with the 18-55 kit lens. Not sure why this lens gets kicked around so much but then again I have not used any of the better lenses yet.
