Yes very, she's got loads of rose bushes. Every birthday and mothers day me and my husband buy her a rose bush.

skydolphins, i'll get back to you, the owner is out.

I was worried the flower might have been a little dark, so i tried to highlight the flower only. any better? Or a little too much.

no i didn't dimitri, does it make much difference? I am not too good at the usm tool. And thanks for the rain dimitri!:D we got a shower last night, not much, but enough to give the plants a drink anyway.

What a nice colour to this rose and good depth to the image with the light and shadows. Nice one Tina, well done.

thankyou all for your comments. I have posted the same rose, 2 days later. It is called tequilla sunrise, so it will become redder on the leaves again. I still prefer my original image though.

Haa,see, even miracles now.;):lol::lol::lol:

Right,USM...after downsizing the photo for the web,every pictures loses alot of its quality and especially sharpness.
For that reason you have to compensate with some additional sharpenning.
Photoshop allows you to do so in different ways,the most common one is unsharp musk or USM.
Don`t go overboard with it though,try settings of 100 / 0.3 / 0 to start with and from that point you can go up or down to where your picture looks best.
