I'm about to buy a Hoya polarizer and a UV filter. However I don't know what model I should get. I don't use wide or tele lenses, but I have plans to buy a wide in the future. Should I get the HMC or S-HMC? How about the UV filter? Should I get the HMC or the "regular" one? Are the "thin" models designed only for wide lenses? Are the Tiffen polarizers/uv filters as good as Hoya?
Sorry for so many questions.
Thanks,
J

I use a Hoya polarizer (58mm) and also a 58mm graduated neutral density filter (GND). The GND helps a lot for landscapes with bright sky that needs toning down.
You don't need to buy a circular polarizer for the G3. A linear will work fine and costs less. I'd go with the HMC if possible as the coating may be better.
Personally I don't use a UV filter as I like as little glass in front of my lens as possible.
