These three are from a recent wedding. On the first I wanted to play with duplicating a "glowy" type action I use on occasion:
The second is a tone mapped, fish-eye shot during the ceremony:
And the third is just one of the B&G shots I took...first time playing around with having them sit in the pews:
comments, criticism greatly appreciated

some nice shots.
I wish the bride's eyes were open in the first one, but it has a great feel to it

Isn't she just looking down at what the child is pointing at?
Beautiful pictures!

thanks! now that I look at it, I think they look closed too...if I crouched down an bit and shot a little more up you would have seen them open.

I love the first and the one with her sisters.
The third I think I would prefer in Black and White

I love the first one. I don't think her eyes look closed. Beautiful!

They're marvilous! What camera/lens/setting/lighting did you use? Thanks!

I don't think it looks like her eyes are closed. That is an interesting angle for the ceremony shot. I'd like to see it a little brighter maybe, though. Maybe you could see what it looks like if you clone out her hair in the pic of her w/the girls? The pew b&g shot is sweet.

Thanks all! This was a fun (and big for me!) wedding.

I don't remember. Could have been my partner, but I don't remember seeing this shot in her files. Probably another guest with a camera. We allow guests to shoot as much as they want alongside us (as long as they're not disruptive)...the theory goes, if our images aren't so far ahead of guests with little point and shoots that they want to buy them, go for it. Sometimes it's a little annoying, but the guests appreciate it and I think making people happy is a big part of this job. Of course, the obvious problem with it is, you get images like that one with the eyes shifted a bit. If they buy a print of this one, I'll try to move the iris a bit...if that works!?

I like the exposure, color, and crispness of the images. The poses are top-notch too. Funny that the eyes should be mentioned with the bride's maids. It was the first thing I noticed on the image. IMO it's worth a try to fix. It's a good exposure.

Thanks a lot!! It looks like you like to use normal aperture and speed but very high ISO and EV to get the exposure in low light without flash, right? Have you adjusted the white balance to get this bright tone? Most of my pictures shot in church look a little red. Thanks again.

thanks Titus! I have one more wedding and a portrait session I have to get processed and I'm going to revisit that shot just to see if I can fix them in photoshop. never tried.

about the settings...absolutely! noise doesn't bother me...ISO 1600 is perfectly acceptable to me for 8x10's and smaller and if I can get away without using flash I do....now if I ever get a better grip on flash photography, that might change :o
and I do tweak WB in the raw file before dumping the jpgs. if light is good, auto works most of the time with small tweaks in color temp/tint to get the skin tones just right. if lighting is just weird, I use an expodisc...although I really need to get better about using it so that someday I can move away from raw.
anyway, when you adjust WB in your raw files, the color temp goes from blue to yellow and the tint is green to magenta...

I absolutly LOVE that first image. It's priceless and I'd be surprised if it didn't get orders for reprints and enlargements. I think it would even have some viability in the stock photo markets.
You have your craft nailed as all of your photos are beautifully done, and completely memorable.

These are so beautiful!! How do you like using the expodisc? I was thinking of ordering one. Again, great job...I'm sure the B&G LOVE them!

They're all first quality. In the first, I like the downward cast eyes. You captured a personal moment between the two. It's good!
The bride is looking at the camera, who are the sisters looking at? My only nit. Very small. All three look great.

beautiful shots. I think if the bride would have been looking at you in the first shot, it wouldnt' have been nearly as nice. I had a shot like that and everyone here said "I wish she had her eyes open" sometimes beauty is in the eye of the beholder right? :)
