S'ok guys,i found a way.
I think it went:
"try-to-click-on-link-and-get-error-messages(mumble),open-mozilla-and-copy-link-into-it,open-acrobat-when-prompted(damn,can't save-swear out loud),open-I.E-*again*-and-THEN-click-on-link-*again*"
Easy when you know how......

Just rick-click on each link of interest and then select "Save As" to save to your hard disk. Then you can open them at your leisure.
Cheers

I always forget. I use Adobe Acrobat and not the readers. Right-click and save as works.

The illustrations don't show up for me. I downloaded the pdf for the Elan II

I got some incomplete pages on some of them.I THINK it was just a downloading problem or such.
Just tried the elan II,had the same problem.
"There was an error prossessing a page. The encoding(Cmap) specified by a font is corrupted or missing."
I wonder if an upgraded reader/acrobat is called for?

Mmm,looks like some might be corrupted at their scource-or it is an adobe issue.
I've tried several attempts at the 50/1.8 and each one has the first page (only) missing
Notice the 50/1.8 has only two lens element parts-two sealed groups.I've noticed from previous repairs on several 35-80 zooms that most of the lens elements are in sealed plastic assemblies.
That would explain why several 50/1.8's with fungus keeps popping up on epay.Everyone thinks it's easy to clean out but no.
Even if we can't fix the pdf error issue,i'm stoked at this resource!
I hope it is fixable though
Hey canon, your parts page needs parts!

There is an issue with a font conversion being mucked up, but it's Japanese text only that is missing so not really an big issue, merely an annoyance.. The pertinent information is there and intact.

Good information - Thanks.
BTW, I downloaded the Japanese Fonts from Adobe and it cleared up the problems I had with a couple of the pages.

I'll try that later too if my version of acrobat allows it.
Did it help with the non showing pics?
Aren't those cameras complicated!Even zoom lenses don't come close

Easier to understand why they're so freaking expensive.

As strange as it sounds, it helped with the Elan II pictures - they wouldn't show without the font addition, but when I added the "upgrade" to Adobe, the pictures had no characters that I would consider to be Japanese.
I'm using Adobe Reader version 6.0 which I beleive is new. I just downloaded that version in the recent past.
It is amazing that these things even work, digital or film. So many tiny moving parts and electronics.

How did you know to do that? It's not prompting me that it is missing any fonts.
Still can't see illustrations. Some times they show but most times they don't. I'm using Acrobat Reader 6 on Win 98SE.

Wow! That's really impressive! As I sit here and wipe up puddle of drool. As if I wasn't when I first got it. Glad it missed the camera itself as that could short the camera out. It truely is a marvel to think that us humans can create such an item. I will look at the link for the 1DS next and really only dream of it.
