Teenagers doing various sketches... this is my first time indoors no flash event and I was pleased with the results of the black background (actual dark curtains)

I got iso 800 at 2.8 and 125-200ss with 200 being a little darker but for when they where jumping about. All my backgrounds are jet black and only the subjects showing up which is an accidental but I think brill effect. I couldn't get any better with the 50/1.8 .. they looked better but still only iso 800

I shot from back of room with 1dmkII and sigma 70-200.. this is an example .. standard noise in bible pro and a usm in ps+ other pp .. am I kidding myself with the black background effect? I dont know if its considered lame.. I think it looks good.. my first so all cc welcome

It looks really good to me - you've got the movement of the kids, and we can really see the fear in their faces. It's cropped in nice and tight so we can get what's happening, without losing any of the shapes they are making with their bodies, which is what makes the picture.

Looks good but if I was the Dad of the girl on the right I would wonder why you shot when her hands were in front of her face. :-)

Crisp PIC, did you take several more, possibly more facial expressions, rather than the hands in front of face.
I just have one problem understanding you. It's the single letter abreviations that don't I understand at all. Otherwise, I like the contrast the background you chose affords you. Got a few more of same set up?

Mine Equip. (all Canon): 30D Bod., 50mm 1.4 USM, 50mm 1.8, 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 not USM kit stock, 28-135mm 3.5-5.6 IS USM Wide Angle Telezoom, 75-300mm 4.0-5.6 Telezoom, RS-80N3, several tripods, mono pod, no flash yet, dozens of filters/close up lenses.
