I have a 350D and a 300V (rebel T2), i drove outta the way to a camera store to buy a flash bracket, and had a off shoe camera cord 2 overnighted from where i work.

I put the flash bracket on and found it extremely uncomfortable to reach my controls and shutter, i then read on the box it was designed for tall cameras, or cameras with battery grip

Is there anything i can do besides driving back to return it? and also other than buying a battery grip?

any custom mods or tips to make this work?

for right now, to use the bracket, im just using a RS60E3 remote to trip the shutter, but accessing other controls are still difficult

Even if there is a way to modify it do you really want to? If it is just the slightest bit uncomfortable or akward you're going to be distracted by it everytime you use it and if its uncomfortable you're not going to want to shoot as long with it. I'd get one that fits and feels good. Take it back, take your camera with you when you do. It's probably a pain to return it but I think it will be less of a pain than 'trying to deal with using it'.

im just going to mount it on the left side.. whch just means the shutter is on the botton when vertical instead of the top... i looked at all of the flash brackets and they all look like theyll be just as uncomfortable, im prolly just being picky

so problem semi solved, thanks though!
